Correct lock-out procedures are examined and performed by the students ensuring confidence at the work site. WCB (WorkSafeBC) Standards and Regulations are defined allowing the student to become familiar with the Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. Confidence is gained by learning safe work practices, what protective equipment and clothing are recommended while stressing working with electricity safely. Students learn and apply WHMIS rules and regulations thereby obtaining a WHMIS certificate. Instruction includes proper use and inspection of safety equipment, access equipment safety, confined space entry, personal protective equipment and elimination of hazards in the equipment and workplace. In addition the students receive Occupational First Aid Level 1 training. Students finish this course by learning safe rigging techniques.
